Congratulations, Donald Trump, on winning the 2024 U.S. Presidential election and taking on the role of President for a second time.

When Trump was elected first time in 2017, I have to admit I was surprised. I couldn’t understand how someone who spoke so bluntly—sometimes in ways I found unsettling—could win the highest office. I wasn’t thrilled or upset, just indifferent, watching with curiosity as his leadership unfolded.

Here we are in 2024, and I oddly feel a sense of relief. Perhaps I’ve changed, or maybe it’s the growing realization that the political left has drifted far from what once felt balanced. Ideas that were once centered on inclusivity and progress now seem to push boundaries in ways that make everyday people feel less secure, less heard, and at times, out of place in their own communities.

In recent years, the relentless push for hyper-globalization, interventionism, and a form of liberalism that often feels disconnected from everyday life has left many people anxious about their safety, jobs, and the right to live in peace. Liberalism does not mean that one cannot hold traditional values; rather, it should allow people to live as they are within a social and legal framework. It is certainly not about blindly adhering to predetermined ideologies or demonstrating a hive-like mentality.

Yes, some of Trump’s ideas still make me uneasy, and there are words I’ll never agree with. But at this moment, a sense of stability, of prioritizing safety and sovereignty, resonates more than my personal discomfort with certain stances.

My hope is that during this new term, world leaders like Trump will prioritize global peace and security, collaborating with other nations to ensure stability. The world does not need more wars. Additionally, I hope this focus extends beyond Wall Street and reaches every community on Main Street, so that prosperity benefits everyone, not just a select few.

Best wishes to President Trump as he begins this new chapter. May this term bring the changes our world needs and contribute to a more peaceful and balanced future for everyone.
